Open for Adventure!

In August 2023 I retired from many years in planetary research and college teaching, and, after surviving a cancer scare, decided that a bit of adventure was in order!  My wife, Mary, and I purchased a small campervan (it was all the rage with young folks during Covid 19 and we’re still young, right?!) and headed out to visit family and friends across the country, visit old haunts and byways, and, of course collect rocks and fossils.  We stop wherever we stop, explore wherever we explore, and all the while we write, plan science workshops, do rock or cross-stitch projects, and, now and then, come back home to our wonderful country retreat in northwest Minnesota.  These musings are some of the product of our adventures, starting with our first year of travels, now complete, and offer some of our philosophical reflections and even a few snippets of writing.  Come along for the ride and enjoy the adventure with us!
